N,N'-(4-Methyl-1,3-phenylene)bismaleimide is a pale yellow crystalline solid or powder with a specific gravity of 1.46. It is soluble in DMF, tetrahydrofuran (THF) and hot acetone, but insoluble in petroleum ether, chloroform, benzene and water.
