2,2'-Bis[4-(4-maleimidophenoxy)phenyl]propane is a yellow, odorless powder. It is soluble in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc) and acetone, but insoluble in water. It can undergo addition copolymerization with many nucleophilic reagents such as amines, phenols, hydrogen sulfide and thiols; it can also be copolymerized and blend-modified with several compounds simultaneously. BMP-BMI features excellent heat resistance, radiation resistance, moisture resistance and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in advanced composite materials, especially in aerospace materials.
